A GREAT LIT!
The Aurora TT is the new thermal taker from Composite RC Gliders.
For the experienced F3K pilot, heights of over 60-70 m can easily be reached, but for me the still very inexperienced skidding for the test report was still very careful. But with every start it always goes a little braver and higher.
The Aurora TT is definitely suitable for top-class F3K competition use, so the statement of a friend and well-known F3K freak ;-).
The details have been optimized for daily use through more stability and thus more weight (+15 gr) for durability for daily robust model flight use!
The flight performance is a quantum leap and significantly increased compared to the previously generally known and available F3K models and with this usable design (+15 gr.) Is at a high level on which the world class meets.
The take-off weight of only 248 grams in connection with a very thin profile of the wing made of a CFRP spread-tow fabric encompassed rigid foam core enables every small and tight thermal beard to be accepted and has an astonishingly good glide performance and speed range for the span.
The bird is stable and fast and can be made very slow to crank tightly.
And finally ...
Who without Vario and a lot of frills,
wants to crank thermals purely and effectively,
when others are still or still on the ground and stay,
the Aurora TT caused a permanent grin on your face after just a few flights.
Have fun, I got a taste for it myself and F3K won't let me go again.
After another three days of flight, with a little more courage and a feeling for the right turn, you can easily reach starting heights of around 50 meters. This height is enough for nice long flights, especially since you can take the thermals 5-10 meters above ground with the Aurora TT. Landing in the hand then becomes routine. Your Stephan Eich
